DANG: The Kamlaris--former bonded labourers-- have not experienced respite from their plights, even after being liberated from the chains of slavery at the house of landlords.
The woes of freed Kamlaris have further worsened due to the lack of proper arrangements for their rehabilitation.
At present, we are bound to face the life full of troubles and tribulations, in comparison to our bygone endurance as the bonded labourers, said former Kamlari Maya Chaudhary, a local of Sisahaniya-8, Deukhuri.
The government scholarship only covers the school admission fee and it is difficult to manage for copy, textbook and school fee, said Chaihdary, a 10th grader.
Similarly, Anita Chaudhary, a student of Dang Dhikpur secondary school, expressed grief that the state and organizations have made them helpless by raising the agenda of Kamlari liberation.
