MACHHAPUCHCHRE BANK LTD. GOING FOR MERGER
Kathmandu, 18 Nov.: Pokhara-based Machhapuchchre Bank Ltd. has called a special general meeting 3 December to empower the board to
go for a merger with other banks or financial institutions.
Plans are afoot to form a merger committee.
Central bank Nepal Rashtra Bank has been encouraging such
mergers to reduce number of commercial banks and financial
institutions to make them viable.

LEBANON HAS STOPPED ISSUING VISAS TO NEPALI
WORKERS
Kathmandu, 18 Nov.: Lebanon has stopped issuing visas to
Nepalis going for work to West Asian state.
Mostly maids seek employment there.
The initiative comes amid reports of ill treatment of Nepalis.

PANCHTHAR FIRE DAMAGE ESTIMATED AT Rs.20 MILLION
Kathmandu, 18 Nov.: Assets worth Rs 20 million was damaged
a fire Tuesday night at Tharke Dhajal gaon in Panchthr, police said.
Fifteen of 16 houses were damaged in the bazzar fire that started from a fire in one house.
