MORE MAOIST LEADERS BEING AMNESTIED SAYS PEACE MINISTER PAHADI
Kathmandu, 10 Nov.:Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Satya Pahadi has said that the peace process would be completed as per the people's wishes.
Speaking at a face-to-face organised by the Janasanchar Abhiyan in the capital on Thursday, she said the government was effortful to forward the tasks of peace process and constitution writing side by side.
She said officials and computer operators have been sent from the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction to the PLA cantonments for the combatants' regrouping.
She also informed the journalists that preparation is underway to constitute the Commission on Truth and Reconciliation, and Commission on the Disappeared Persons as soon as chairman of the UCPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal returns home from abroad.
She said the peace process would be completed based on agreement among the parties, adding that, "The relief and rehabilitation package to be given to the PLA combatants has been prepared."
On the occasion, she claimed that attempts were made to falsely implicate lawmaker Bal Krishna Dhungel and added that the government used its prerogative to withdraw such cases. Minister Pahadi further said that other cases against the Maoist leaders related to conflict would also be withdrawn.
