PM BHATTARAI, SRI LANKAN PRESIDNT TALKS IN MALDIVES
Kathmandu, 10 Nov.: Prime Minister Dr Babruram Bhattarai, who is in Addu City in the Maldives in course of attending the 17th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), is busy holding bilateral meetings since early Thursday morning, RSS reports.
Prime Minister Bhattarai had a meeting with President of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Mahinda Rajapakchhe at Shangri-la Resort in Addu City.
On the occasion, the two leaders discussed various matters including the consolidation of SAARC, further enhancement of bilateral relations and mutual cooperation, informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Prime Minister apprised on the President about the ongoing peace process, constitution drafting and recent signing of seven-point deal by the parties to conclude the peace process.
Similarly, the Prime Minister was scheduled to hold meetings with Bhutanese Prime Minister Loncheng Jigmi Thinle, Pakistani Prime Minister Said Yusufraja Gilani, Afghani President Hamid Karzai and Bangladeshi Prime Minister Shekh Hasina this morning.
Prime Minister Bhattarai is addressing the 17th SAARC Summit to take place in Hithado Conference Centre this afternoon.
