PRACHANDA SUB-COMMTTEE FORMS COMMITTEE OF EXPERTS TO DISCUSS STATE RESTRUCTURING

Kathmandu, 4 Nov. A meeting of the main constitution drafting
committee is being held Saturday.

The sub-committee headed by Maoist Chairman Prachanda decided o form a committee of experts to discuss state restructuring for a federal structure by amending the interim constitution.
A task force of five persons from parties represented in the
sub-committee will take follow-up measures.
There are 22 differences of a state structure and reorganization.
Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai attended the meeting.
The Interim Constitution had envisioned a state restructuring
Commission to consider a future structure for federal Nepal.
The parties, however, have now decided the issue should be discussed at the sub-committee for which the interim constitution has to be
amended.
Government immediately started initiative for the 11th amendment of the constitution; a proposal is being registered in parliament Friday fordiscusson and approval by parliament which meets 11 November.
