SECURITY IN 16 EASTERN DISTRICTS BEING REVIEWED

Kathmandu, 7 Nov.: Security situation in 16 hill and terai eastern districts being reviewed Tuesday at a meeting in Inaruwa.
The meeting will be inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister
Bijaya Kumar Gachedhar who also inaugurated a similar meeting of the central
Region.
The Inrauwa meeting will be attended by CDOs of the districts and security
officials.
The meeting will draw up strategies to tackle the situation created by armed
groups in the terai and activities of groups demanding autonomy in the hill
districts.

DR. TULSI GIRI RETURNS TO INDIA, MAOIST REBEL LEADER IN CHINA

Kathmandu, 7 Nov.: Dr. Tulsi Giri has returned for a permanent stay at Bangalore, India, Tarun reports quoting an unnamed source.
Dr. Giri returned from India and was appointed vice-chairman of the council of
ministers under King Gyanendra’s direct rule.
CP Gajurel, Secretary in UCPN (Maoist) is currently in China and is busy
meeting Chinese leaders,
Gajurel, who has sided with the rebel Baidya group in the party, left for China
after registering disagreement with the seven-point accord between ruling parties and opposition NC and UML.
