AGREEMENT

Kathmandu, 7 Nov.: Nepali Congress Central Member Dr. Sashank Koirala said there is no possibility to return back from the seven-point agreement signed by political parties to forward the peace and constitution writing processes, RSS reports from Butwal..

Speaking at a press meet organized by Rupandehi chapter of Nepal Press Union in Butwal on Monday, he said though a hard liner faction of the UCPN (Maoist) protested the agreement, it has no meaning at all.

Koirala said the political consensus made for the peace process could soon make basis for settling the contentious issues appeared during the constitution writing process.

He said the term of the Constituent Assembly (CA) could be extended after November 30 as there is no alternative to this.

The NC leader claimed that the NC will lead the next government as per the seven-point agreement to form the consensus government, saying the UCPN (Maoist) and the CPN-UML had already led the government twice after the CA election.

"The national consensus government will be led by Nepali Congress," said NC leader Koirala.

FURTHER DETAILS OF PM BHATTARAI, KARAN SINGH MEET

Kathmandu, 7 Nov.: Chairman of the Indian Cultural Relations Council (ICRC) Dr. Karan Singh on Monday met with Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai at the latter’s official residence at Baluwatar, RSS reports.

During the meeting, PM Bhattarai said that the Bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (BIPPA) has created the environment for investment in Nepal for Indian investors, and also urged the investors to invest with confidence, informed PM's Press Advisor Ram Rijhan Yadav.

Dr Singh, on the occasion expressed his confidence that the peace and constitution writing processes will precede smoothly.
