30 DECEMBER DEADLINE WILLL BE MISSED FOR CONSTITUTION DRAFTING

MAIN CONSTITUTION DRAFTING COMMITTEE WILL MISS 30 DECEMBER DEADLINE TO RESOLVE DIFFERENCES OF THEMES ON CONSTITUTION

Kathmandu, 25 Dec.: A meeting of the man constitution drafting committee headed by Nilambar Acharya was inconclusive Sunday
Maoist Chairman Prachanda and NC Vice-chairman Ram Chandra who is mourning his mother’s death were not present.
The committee meeting was adjourned until 31 December without resolving 11 differences on themes.
The differences had to be settled by 30 December to pave the way for the committee to begin drafting articles of a proposed constitution.
The differences will now have to be sent to the constituent assembly for voting and adoption.
A major schedule to meet deadlines for promulgatng a constitution by 28 May will now be missed.
Differences have resurfaced at the committee after agreement between inside the UuCPN Maoist.
Differences have been raised by Mohan Badiya faction.
