BIMSTEC MEET IN NEPAL IN JANUARY

Kathmandu, 21 Dec.: Nepal is hosting a two-day ministerial meeting of Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical an Economic
Cooperation (BIMSTEC) on poverty alleviation from January.
Formal final dates are still being worked out.
Nepal, India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Thailand re member states of the grouping.

EMBASSY FINALLY REJECTS INDIAN GOVT. REQUEST FOR SOME PRIME EMBASSY LAND TO DEVELOP METRO LINE IN NEW DELHI

Kathmandu, 21 Dec.: Nepal embassy has requested an Indian
government request to make available some land of the embassy for the development of a metro railway line, Mahesh Acharya reports in
Kantipur from New Delhi.

The request was rejected three weeks ago after a year of indecision.
Development of the metro line would be hampered without giving the
land but embassy work would disturbed by parting with the land;this ade I difficult for the embassy to decide.
