MADHAV KUMAR NEPAL BLAMES PM FOR DELAY IN
CONCLUDING PEACE PROCESS

Kathmandu, 15 Dec.: Senior leader of the CPN-UML Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that the remaining tasks of the peace process and constitution drafting have been blockaded in Singha Durbar and on the table of the Prime Minister, RSS reports from Dolkha.
Speaking at a news conference in Charikot on Thursday, leader Nepal said the tasks of peace and constitution writing were halted though both the issues were started in an encouraging manner earlier.

The former Prime Minister Nepal also urdged the Prime Minister not to delay the cantonment eviction process and to speed up the constitution writing process adding that Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai would be blamed if the peace and constitution writing were not concluded.

Leader Nepal further said that more than 6,500 combatants would not be integrated into security forces. He opined that each PLA combatant who opted for voluntary retirement should be provided with the cash amount through their bank accounts in the respective districts.

After the press meet, leader Nepal has left for Lamabagar to monitor and inspect the construction works of the Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Project in the district.

LEADERS STILL DEMAND CLARIFICATION OF CANCELLATION
FOR CHINESE PM WEN VISIT
Kathmandu, 15 Dec. Leaders of various political parties including the ruling ones have demanded the clarification why Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao postponed his visit to Nepal, RSS reports.
At a programme organised at the Media Vision Nepal on Thursday, they said the Chinese Premier was invited without consulting the parties.

UCPN-Maoist standing committee member Dev Gurung said it was not judicious on the part of the Prime Minister to disclose the date of Chinese PM's visit before holding discussion between the two-country governments. The postponement has now raised serious question on the relations between the two countries.

Similarly, Nepali Congress central member Dr. Narayan Khadka said the Chinese premier's Nepal visit was postponed due to the weakness on government's part.

UML leader Bharat Mohan Adhikari said the sudden deferral of the Nepal visit of Chinese premier was inopportune which would render serious effects on the two-country relations in economic, political and diplomatic spheres.

A 101-member Chinese delegation led by premier Wen was said to begin Nepal visit on December 20, 2011.

DPM GACHEDHAR ROOTS FOR PM BHATTARAI
Kathmandu, 15 Dec.:Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar has claimed that the national consensus government will be formed under the leadership of incumbent Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai,

Talking to journalists at Biratnagar airport on Thursday, Home Minister Gachchhadar said the present government will accomplish the peace and constitution-making process.

He also said that the recruitment process of Madhesi youths to the Nepal Army (NA) will begin after talks between the Madhesi Front and the Unified CPN-Maoist.

CHIEF OF NEPAL DESK AT INDIAN FOREIGN OFFICE LCALLS ON SPEAKER
Kathmandu, 15 Dec.:Joint-secretary at the Foreign Affairs Ministry of India and chief at the Nepal Desk, Akhilesh Mishra, called on Constituent Assembly Chairman Subas Chandra Nembang at the latter's Office in Singha Durbar on Thursday, RSS reports.

During the meeting, the two held talks regarding Nepal’s ongoing peace process, writing of the new constitution, mutual relationship between two countries and contemporary politics, according to the Legislative-Parliament Secretariat.

WILD ELEPHANT
TRAMPLES MINOR TO DEATH IN MAKWANPUR

Kathmandu, 15 Dec.: : A minor died when a wild tusker attacked him in Jogital of Manahari VDC in Makawanpur district last night, RSS reports from Hetaida.

Eight-year-old Riddhi Chepang, son of Man Bahadur died, in the incident while his wife Kamala sustained minor injuries as she was offending the elephant, said police. She is undergoing treatment in Manahari Health Center.

A squad of police from District Police Office and Forest Office reached the site to rescue the victims, informed police.
