MAOIST LEADER MAHARA ACCUSED UNNAMED FORCES FOR ATTEMPTNG TO DERAIL PEACE
Kathmandu, 19 Dec.: The Foreign Bureau Chief the UCPN-Maoist Krishna Bahadur Mahara has said that the role of journalists was vital to take the peace process to its logical end, RSS reports from Dang.

Speaking at a programme organised to mark the 19th anniversary of the Federation of Nepalis Journalist (FNJ) Dang Chapter in Ghorahi on Monday, Mahara said different international forces were trying to stop the progress happening in the ongoing peace process.

Leader Mahara said journalism is the first estate though it was ranked as the fourth estate of the society.

On the occasion, Chairman of Nepal Press Council, Narayan Prasad Sharma, urged the journalists for practicing creative journalism.

During the programme, Khem Rijal and Kabita Ghimire of Goraksha Daily were honored.
