MINISTER GUPTA SAYS FURTHER MEETINGS

RESOLVE DIFFERENCES UPDATE

Kathmandu, 12 Dec. Communication Minister Jayaprakash
Prasad Gupta said Monday evening further meetings are needed
to resolve differences between Madeshbadi front and Maoists
leading a coalition government
“There was no resolution today. Further meetings are needed,” he
said after a meeting between the front and UCPN (Maoist).

GOVT ACCEPTS CHINESE ASSISTANCE FOR NEPAL POLICE

Kathmandu, 12 Dec, : The cabinet Monday decided to accept a Rs.131.4 million grant from China to Nepal Police for capacity
strengthening programs.
He acceptance for strengthening the capacity of Nepal Police
comes days before Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao arrives for a three day visit.

HLCIT DISSOLVED
Kathamandu, 12 Dec.: The cabinet Monday evening dissolved
the High Level Commission for Information Technology (HLCIT), Government Spokesman Narayan Kazi Shrestha said
A division under the Ministry for Science and Technology (MoST)
will oversee it.

DIL BAHADUR GURUNG APPOINTED NARC CHIEF

Kathmandu, 12 Dec.: Dil Bahadur Gurung was appointed
executive director of Nepal Agricultural Research Council
(NARC) Monday.
