MONDAY’S NC PROTESTS ON UPDATE

Monday’s nation-wide strike is on.
A NC requested Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai Sunday evening
to withdraw ‘false’ murder charge against Chitwan district Tarun
Dal Chief Shiva Prasad Paudel who died Saturday while undergoing treatment for head injuries
The demands weren’t met
He sustained injury in an attack in an attack at Chitwan district
prison.
Main opposition NC said it will continue with protests until charges against
Paudel are withdrawn and he’s declared a martyr.
Monday’s strike will begin 6 in the morning Monday and end at 5.30
late afternoon.
The party issued circulars to sister organizations to launch protests peacefully after a late evening central committee meet.
Party General Secretary Krishna Prasad Shitaula also stressed the protests Monday will be peaceful after an unsuccessful meet with Bhattarai.
NC hasn’t takes charge of the body of Paudel from hospital in the
capital though original plan was to cremate him in Chitwan Monday.
RJP Co-chairman Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohini Sunday
reminded NC it had forgone strikes.
But NC Spokesman Arjun Narsingh KC said circumstance was ‘special’ with the death of a detainee after an attack inside a prison cell.
