PRACHANDA SUB-COMMITTEE MEET ADJOURNED INDEFINITELY
Kathmandu, 8 Dec.: The day after UCPN (Maoist)Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal approved a schedule to promulgate a constitution within six months, the meetings of the controversial sub-committee headed by him has been adjourned indefinitely, Madhab Dhungel writes in Nagarik
On his behalf, Personal Secretary Shamir Dahal telephoned constitutional committee Secretary Tek Prasad Dhungana Tuesday at nine in the night and told him meetings were postponed indefinitely because of inadequate homework.
The first meeting to discuss schedule implementation has been affected.
Speaker Subash Nemwang said he was surprised ad saddened.
“The peace process is moving ahead. Constitution promulgation has been prioritized. For what reason is homework inadequate? The work shouldn’t have been adjourned,” Nemwang told Nagarik.
