SUPREME COURT RULES GOVT. PERKS TO FORMER PMs AND OTHERS NOT IN OFFICE BE WITHDRAW
Kathmandu, 8 Dec.: A tw0-member division bench of the supreme court ruled Thursday there’s no legal basis to provide expensive government facilities to former prime ministers and home ministers.
The apex court ruled the facilities be withdrawn.
The bench rules on a public interest litigation filled by advocate Ram Chandra Paudel last year.
Paudel objected to expensive perks like vehicles provided by government out of office.

TWO SISTERS DEAD, MOTHER UNCONSCIOUS
Kathmandu, 8 Dec.: Two girls of a family have died in a mysterious condition at Janagal VDC-1 of Kavre district, SS reports from Banepa.
Out of the three, the two daughters and their mother were found unconscious and the two girls died while undergoing treatment at Schir Memorial Hospital, Banepa.
The deceased have been identified as Priyanka Yadav, 11, and Asmita Yadav, 8, of Siraha district, according to the Area Police Office, Banepa.
Santa Devi, 35, mother of the deceased, who was found in unconscious condition, is undergoing treatment at the same hospital.
The Yadav family has been working at a local noodles factory. Investigation into the incident is underway, said police.
