FURTHER DETAILS OF VALLEY CLOSURE BY STUDENTS

Kathmandu, 25 Jan.; Students, including Maoists whose party is
leading a coalition with a Madeshi front, issued an ultimatum to government reduce massive hiked POL prices by 11 in the morning Thursday.
A scheduled meeting of student representatives couldn’t be held Wednesday to decide on second phase protests.
The strike Wednesday affected districts nationwide.
Several vehicles, including an Indian registered bus was
vandalized in neighbouring Patan.
A vehicle was damaged in an arson attack in Sindhuli and 12studens were injured in clashes in Janakpur during Danusha district closure.

40 DETONATORS RECOVERED N KHOTANG

Kathmandu, 25 Jan. Forty detonators were recovered by police while a field was being prepared for planting crops Wednesday at a village
in Khotang in the East.
Police suspect Kirat Janatantrik Workers’ Party for hiding the cache in the field.

MEETINGS AFFECTED BY VALLEY STRIKE UPDATE

Kathmandu, 25 Jan.: A scheduled meeting of the main constitutional committee chaired by Nilambar Acharya also couldn’t be held Wednesday and will meet instead Friday.
A summit of the Big Three was also postponed until Thursday
morning.
