LAST EFFORT OF PRACHANDA SUB-COMMITTEE TO RESOLVE DIFFERECES ON CONSTITUTION

PRACHANDA SUB-COMMITTEE MEETS AGAIN TUESDAY

Kathmandu, 3 Jan.: A Prachand sub-committee to resolve differences on themes to be incorporated in a proposed delayed constitution by 28 May makes a last attempt to sort out differences between parties Tuesday.
Monday’s meeting was inconclusive.
The main constitution drafting committee headed by Nilambar
Acharya has given the sub-committee until Tuesday to resolve differences and report to it.
The Acharya committee has to report progress on constitution drafting to the constituent assembly (CA) by Thursday to meet a deadline to promulgate a basis law.
Efforts are being made for an elusive consensus between parties.
Fundamental differences remain of form of governance and other subjects.
The CA will have to vote on themes for incorporation I a basic law.
The Pachanda sub-committee filed to meet a 30 December deadline to resolve differences on themes.

SENIOR JOURNALST ISHWOR MAN SINGH DEAD

Kathmandu, 3 Jan. Ishwor Man Singh, 75, died on brain
hemorrhage Monday.
He is survived y eight daughters.
Singh, a sports journalist was a senior reporter with national news agency RSS for 30 years
