NC LEADER RAM CHANDRA PAUDEL ANGRILY DISMISSES
SWITZERLAND ACCORD BROKERED BY FOREIGN FORCES
Kathmandu, 12 Jan:: Nepali Congress Vice President Ram Chandra Poudel on Thursday has denied the rumors about an earlier agreement between the leaders of major political parties on a mixed form of governance during a meeting held in Switzerland a year back,.
He said the rumour of such understanding is baseless, greawayonlne.com reports.

Poudel, emerging from the Constitutional Committee (CC) meeting held at Singha Durbar, claimed that the NC has never sent any representatives from the party for such agreement in Switzerland.
“The party has never sent any representatives and that it has no idea about any written agreement on this regard,” Poudel said.
According to the report, Nepali Congress leader Arjun Narsingh KC, who participated in the meeting held in Zurich, last February, admitted that there had been an understanding to adopt a mixed model in the new constitution. “We had agreed that we can go for a mixed model with universally accepted norms of democracy after the management of arms and armies of the Maoists.”
Prakash Man Singh, KC and Bimalendra Nidhi represented the NC; Ishwor Pokharel, Pradip Gyawali and Bhim Rawal represented the CPN-UML; while Hridayesh Tripathi represented the Terai Madhes Loktantrik Party during the weeklong discussion, as per the report.
Earlier, it was revealed that the leaders of major political parties had agreed in Switzerland last year to accept the mixed model with the provision of a directly elected president and a prime minister elected from the parliament as a meeting point between them on the forms of governance.
