PRICES OF POL PRODUCTS RAISED
Kathmandu, Jan 18: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has hiked the price of all the petroleum products effective from Wednesday.
Kathmandu, 18 Jan.: Petrol price was increased Wednesday Rs. 10 per liter .amid shortage to Rs. 115 per liter by Nepal Oil Corporation..
Diesel and kerosene price was ncreased Rs. 9 per liter; diesel and kerosene willnoe sell at Rs. 85 per liter.
The price of LPG per was raised Rs 175 to Rs. 1500 per cylinder.

SIX JOINT SECRETARTIES PROMOTED
Kathmandu, 18 Jan.: A meeting of the Council of Ministers Tuesday promoted six joint secretaries to the post of secretary, The Rising Nepal reports.
The cabinet Tuesday promoted Arjun Bahadur Bhandari, Hariram Koirala, Dharanidhar Khatiwada, Durga Prasad Bhattarai, Krishna Chandra Poudel and Tilakram Sharma to secretaries.
Bhandari is the senior most among the currently promoted government officials. He was promoted to the post of joint secretary in 2051 B.S, while Durga Niddhi Sharma has been given the responsibility as the acting secretary.

ETIHAD AIRWAYS FLIGHT ABORTED
Kathmandu, 18 Jan.: An Etihad Airways aircraft flying to Abu Dhabi from Kathmandu had to be forcelanded immediately after it took off at 10pm from Tribhuvan International Airport on Tuesday, The Himalayan Times reports reports.“The aircraft had an emergency landing after a minor problem was detected in the engine,” said an airlines source, adding that there were 165 passengers on board. “They are being taken care of and have been accommodated in hotels.”

PM Bhattarai Visiting India
Kathmandu, Jan 18: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai is slated to visit India next month to mark his presence in a summit to be held in Patna, Bihar, greatway.com reports.
PM Bhattarai will grace the Global Summit on Changing Bihar: Forging Partnership for Development as the chief guest on February 18, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
Indian Embassy in Kathmandu on Tuesday had extended the invitation by Nitish Kumar, the chief minister for Bihar state of India, to PMO.
PM Bhattarai will address the three-day summit on February 18 during the inauguration.
The summit is organized jointly by Bihar Foundation, Institute of Human Development and Asian Development Research Institute.
