BOMB DAMAGES GENERATOR OF Ncell IN DHADING

Kathmandu, 25 Feb.: A string bomb blast Friday completely
damaged a generator of Ncell at Ghotapani VDC-4 in Dhading.
The bomb was planted by Samyutka Jatiya Mukti Morcha (SJMM), an underground outfit demanding autonomy.
A pamphlet of SJMM was recovered from the incident site.

INTERNATIONAL MEDIA MISSION IN EAST
Kathmandu, 25 Feb.:: The visiting International Media Mission arrived in Biratnagar in order to garner information about media situation on Friday. RSS reports from Paniytyanki, Jhapa.
The Mission inquired information about the security to journalists and press freedom in the region at a programme with the journalists, civil society and representatives of the political parties.
The eastern region has witnessed spate of attack, threats and intimidation on journalists from various quarters.
The team comprises representatives from Pakistan, India and Britain. The team is led by Secretary of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Jagat Nepal.

SHANKER HAD BAIRAGI BEGINS OFFICIAL RESPONSSSSIBILITIES IN GENEVA

Kathmandu, 25 Feb.: Career diplomat Shanker Das Bairagi began his took has taken up his responsibilities as Nepal’s Permanent
Representative to the United Nations and ambassador to other International Organizations in Geneva.
He presented his appointment letter to Secretary General of the United Nations and Director General of the United Nations Office in
Geneva, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Geneva Friday.

FOREIGN MINISTER SHRESTHA RECOVERING AFTER
SURGERY; NEEDS REST FOR TWO MORE MONTHS
Kathmandu, 25 Feb.::: Foreign Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha who had recently had operation for waning vertebra is in need of rest for two more months, RSS reports.
He has been regularly consulting orthopedic Dr Suraj Bajracharya following the operation a month ago in Japan.
Personal secretary to the Foreign Minister, Sushan Karmacharya said Minister Shrestha will not attend any public program for two months due to the ailment. The Minister is undergoing MRI every two weeks now, he added.
Also the Vice-Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist, Minister Shrestha has been carrying out Ministry works from his own residence.
Due to the sickness, Minister Shrestha will not be attending the UN conference on human rights to be held in Switzerland this week, it is learnt.
