Kathmandu, 26 Feb.: Chairman of constitution drafting main committee Nilambar Acharya said Sunday the “possibility of declaring a constitution by 28 May is over”.
“It’s said the possibility of declaring a constitution is over. There’s no
possibility of resolving differences in the additional time,” Acharya told
Naya Patrika in reply to a question : Can differences be resolved by an
extended time of 3 March?”
‘Time is inadequate for the constituent assembly to give recommendations and directions on the report of the state reorganization committee,” Acharya said and added a task force has to be formed and a constitution has to be amended to meet procedures.

KHOTANG SCHOOLS CLOSED AFTER MEASLES OUTBREAK
Kathmandu, 26 Feb.: A school has been closed for a week from today [Sunday] after measles gripped over 150 students, RSS reports fro, Khotang .
Mount Everest Boarding School of Diktel, the district headquarters of Khotang, has been shut down after the large number of students suffered from the measles, school's vice-principal Indra Prasad Ghimire said.
Three days ago, a student suffered from the measles and the disease was communicated to other students as well

JAYAPRAKASH PRASAD GUPTA’S PARTY SAYS CHARGES AGAIST ITS CHAIRMAN ATTEMPT TO CRUSH MADESH MOVEMENT
Kathmandu, 26 Feb.: United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF)— an alliance of four Madhes-based political parties representing in the incumbent Maoist led government-- has claimed that the verdict of the Supreme Court (SC) on the corruption charges against Jay Prakash Prasad Gupta and over other issues of Madhes including federalism were the attempts to subdue the Madhes movements, RSS reports.
The Sunday meeting of the UDMF held under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar drew such understandings.
Chairman of Madhesi People's Rights Forum-Republican, a member party of the UDMF, Gupta, who was also the Minister for Information and Communications, was convicted in corruption charges and sent to jail following the SC verdict on last Monday.
However, issuing a press statement after the meeting, the UDMF has expressed its commitment to the completion of the peace process and successful drafting of the democratic constitution in time.

KAMAL THAPA SAYS MEANINGFUL STATUTE NOT POSSIBLE
Kathmandu, 26 Feb.: Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) Chairman Kamal Thapa has said that a meaningful constitution cannot not be drafted if unity between democratic, leftist and nationalist forces lies far off, RSS reports from Biratnagar.
“If a constitution is promulgated forcefully, the majority people will not respect it and it will have no meaning, told Thapa at press meet organized here today.
He further said, as no constitution was made even after extending the term of the Constituent Assembly (CA) time and again, it will not be made either in the next three months.
Saying that corruption has increased in every sector since the movement of 2006, Thapa added that the incumbent minister Jay Prakash Prasad Gupta's corruption case is a burning example of the same.
