KHAS CHEETRIS CLOSE DOWN EAST NEPAL FOR THREE DAYS

DANG MARRIAGE BUS ACCIDENT DEATH TOLL
INCREASES TO FOUR UPDATE

Kathmandu, 23 Feb. The death toll in a marriage party accident in
Lamahi, Dang, increased to four Thursday.
The bus was carrying bride.
The injured are being treated at local health facility and a hospital in Nepalgunj.

JUDICIAL COUNCIL BEGINS DISCUSSIONS ON ACTION AGAINST SPECIAL COURT JUDGES

Kathmandu, 23 Feb.: The judicial council Thursday
held preliminary discussions on this week’s recommendation of the supreme court to initiate action against three judges of a special court that dismissed corruption charges against Communication Minister Jayaprakash Prasad Gupta.
A bench of the apex court Tuesday overturned the special court decision .
The lower court dismissed the CIAA charge on a technicality.
The supreme court asked action be taken against three special court for a flawed decision clearing Gupta of corruption charges.

KHAS CHHETRIC LAUNCH THREE-DAY EASTERN REGION STRIKE

Kathmandu, 23 Feb.: Khas Chhetris Thursday launched a three-day continuous strike of 16 districts demanding inclusion as indigenous people in a government listing.
Chhetris and Brahims sayd they have been discriminated against by government by putting the biggest ethnic groups in that category.
Ethnic political pursued in the last six years in having a backlash with opposition to creation of ethnic regions and provinces delaying the promulgation of a constitution.

RPP-NEPAL PADLOCKS VDC OFFICES NATIONWIDE

Kathmandu, 23 Feb.: RPP-Nepal Thursday padlocked offices of VDC nationwide demanding immediate local elections.
The party demanding constitutional monarchy and a Hindu state says corruption in local bodies has peaked with running of local administrative units by representatives of the Big Three.

MMC TO PLAY SAHARA CLUB IN FINAL OF SIMARA GOLD CUP

Kathmandu, 23 Feb.: Manang Marshyangdhi Club (MMC) Thursday
entered the final of Simara Gold Cup defeating Rani Pokhari Club (RCT) 2-1 in a tiebreaker
Both teams played a goalless draw in the first 90 minutes.
MMC will play Sahara Club of Pokhara in the final Saturday in Simara.
The winner will get Rs.300,000 and runner—up Rs.150,000.

MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE SHOOTS UP TO 28.6 DEGREES CELSIUS

Kathmandu, 23 Feb.: Maximum temperature in the capital shot up to
more than 28 degrees Celsius degrees Thursday.
Minimum temperature was 6 .4 degrees Celsius.
