UML CHAIRMAN KHANAL PRESENTS POLITICAL REPORT
Kathmandu, 5 March: Opposition UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal Monday afternoon presented his political report for adoption by the 900 plus delegates and
observers of the party national representatives council.
General Secretary Idhwor Pokhrel presented the organization report along
with other reports.
The 2nd day’s session was delayed by five hours over differences on registration of delegates and observers.
Group discussions will begin Tuesday on the third and last day of the
council meet.

EDUCATION MINISTER WARNS TEACHERS
Kathmandu, 5 March: Minister for Education Dinanath Sharma has said that action would be taken against the teachers if they again shut down schools at a time when the government has expressed the commitment to address problems of teachers and staffs through dialogue, RSS reorts.

Releasing a mouthpiece 'Abhibhawak' of Nepal National Guardians' Association here on Monday, Minister Sharma called all not to launch any programmes that obstruct teaching learning activities.

He said guardians have complained that permanent teachers do not teach, and stressed that teachers should be dutiful to solve this problem.

Minister Sharma mentioned that existence of private schools will be at risk itself if the standards of government schools go up.

Chairman of the Nepal Teachers' Union, Dil Bahadur Joshi said that they are committed not to launch the programmes that obstruct teaching and learning activities if the government fulfills their demands.

Similarly, Chairman of the Private and Boarding Schools Organisation of Nepal (PABSON) Dr. Baburam Pokhrel said that there was a need of separate private school act to run private schools.

Likewise, Chairman of the Higher Secondary School Association of Nepal, Umesh Shrestha argued that private schools have been established after no return of investment of government schools had come.

Dharma Dutta Devkota, Chairman of the National Guardians' Association proposed to conduct extensive dialogue to solve the educational problems.

Former Chairman of the Education Journalists' Group, Sudarshan Ghimire stressed on continuous alerting to teachers by the guardians.

BAN ON INSURANCE COMPANY LIFTED
Kathmandu, 5 March: Beema Samiti (Insurance Board) has withdrawn all sorts of ban on Asian Life Insurance Company on Monday, RSS reports..
The Board has also withdrawn the decision to ban the bank accounts of the Asian Life Insurance in different banks and financial institutions through Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) along with the previous order to ban on stock exchange transactions.
Releasing a press statement today, the Board has stated that the then Managing Director of Asian Life, Ramesh Kumar Bhattarai, was fined Rs 10,000 for carrying out works against the interests of the insurers and insured by distributing dividend overriding the Insurance Act, creating a situation to completely close the transaction of the company.
The statement reads that the company has followed the directive given by the Board and has withdrawn all dividend distributed to the shareholders and the application of the company was satisfactory.

GACHCHADAR SAYS INTEGRATION OF TERAI PEOPLE HAS
BEGUN IN NEPAL ARMY
Kathmandu, 5 March: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bijay Kumar Gachchadar has said the twin task of concluding peace process and constitution writing would be accomplished before May 27, RSS reports from Saptari.

Inaugurating the fifth convention of the Shreepurraj Community Development Centre here on Monday, DPM Gachchhadar said a political chapter concludes after the election is held by promulgating new constitution and establishing peace. The government was committed to this end, he added.

"Democratization of Nepal Army is underway," he said adding that even the process to induct Madhesi, dalit and indigenous people to make Nepal Army has begun.

Meanwhile, DPM Gachchhadar laid the foundation stone to various buildings to be constructed for cooperatives and for the Community Development Centre at Shreepur VDC in the district.

RAM CHANDARA PAUDEL CALLS FOR 7-POINT IMPLEMENTATION
Kathmandu, 5 March: Nepali Congress (NC) Vice President and Parliamentary Party leader, Ram Chandra Paudel has said the incumbent government would lose its significance if it failed to enforce the seven-point agreement, RSS reports from Rajbiraj.

Talking to media persons at the NC district office in Rajbiraj, Saptari on Monday, leader Paudel said all the contentious issues related to the peace and constitution drafting processes would be resolved if the agreement was enforced.

Stating that the peace process has stalled due to non-implementation of the agreement, he accused the Maoists of creating obstructions in implementing the agreement.

He further stressed that it was the primary responsibility of the government to take initiative to enforce the agreement reached among the major parties on November 1, last year.
