MINISTERIAL COMMITTEE TO
RECOMMEND ‘DEMOCRATIZATION’ OF NA

Kathmandu, 28 March: A three-member ministerial committee
has been formed by a high-powered political committee OF THE CABINET to recommend measures to ‘democratize’Nepal Army (NA).
The committee headed by deputy Prime Minister and Home
Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachedhar consists of Minister for
Physical Planning Hridesh Tripathi and Finance Minister
Barshaman Singh Pun.
Gachedhar also looks after the defence ministry portfolio after a
minister of hill origin Sharat Singh Bhandari was dismissed.
The committee will also suggest recommends for a review of national security policy.

COMMITTEE TO RECOMMEND SUGGESTIONS IMPLEMENT DECISION YO DECLARE 41 MUNICIPALITIES

Kathmandu, 28 March: A eight-member committee has been
formed by cabinet’s political committee to give suggestions
for implementing a decision to declare 41 municipalities.
Tuesday’s meeting decided to bring five regional under
jurisdiction of the Office of the Prime Minister.

CHINESE INJURED IN CLASHES WITH LOCALS

Kathmandu, 28 March: Three Chinese workers with Trishuli
III A power plant were injured in a clash with locals Tuesday at at Makamana, Nuwakot.
The Chinese received minor injuries.
Dispute broke over the repair of a common irrigation canal,
according to Nagarik.
