NC LEADERSHIP UNDER FIRE UNCLEAR POSITION ON FEDERALISM
Kathmandu, 20 March: Local leaders and cadres of Nepali Congress here have criticised the party leadership for not bringing clear view on
federalism, RSS reports from Biirgunj..

Speaking at the ongoing cadres' orientation program being held in Birgunj, majority of the local leaders and cadres said that federalism should be made through judicious distribution of natural resources and considering geographical status with due respect to the spirit of the people from mountain, hills, and Terai regions.

Leaders and cadres of the Nepali Congress (NC) stressed on federalising the country based on identity and capability and making four-six federal states including two in Madhes.

During the program, NC President Sushil Koirala said that the NC was not for making many federal states. He however clarified that the party was not against federalism.

He said it should not be forgotten that most of the countries were seceded due to ethnicity-based federalism and inapplicable form of governance.

Similarly, NC leader Ram chandra Paudel said the NC was for respecting all religions, castes, nationalism, democracy and socialism, adding that the NC has always highly regarded the spirit and dignity of Madhesi people.



In the two-day orientation training, as many as 175 leaders and cadres including the members of general convention from all districts in Janakpur and Narayani zones, central members and lawmakers, district presidents, among others are participating.

THREE NEPALI AMASSADORS APPOINTED
Kathmandu, 20 March: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on Tuesday appointed Nepali ambassadors on the government’s recommendation.
Dhananjaya Jha was appointed ambassador to United Arab Emirates, Ram Mani Pokharel to Belgium, and Ravi Mohan Sapkota to the Russian Federation.
