PM BHATTARAI, MAOIST CHIEF HOLD CONSULTATIONS AMID REVOLT IN PARTY
Kathmandu, 18 March: Maoist Chief Prachanda and Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, who is also a top party functionary in UCPN
(Maoist) consulted Sunday on management of a ‘mini-revolution ‘in
the biggest party which is communist and leading the government.
Prachanda and Bhattarai also held separate discussions with supporters as well
A faction led by First Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya, through Secretary CP Gajurel, Saturday publicly announced parliament and streets protests with opposition to topple the six-month Bhattarai government,
Baidya himself laws absent at the meeting and appeared in Janakpur.
“Government hasn’t prepared for a people’s revolt,” Gajurel said detailing adding objective was to form a national government with opposition and to create pressures on government.

SPECIAL COMMITTEE MEET PUT OFF
Kathmandu, 18 March: Sunday’s meeting of the special committee chaired
ex-officio by the prime minister has been out off, a radio report said Sunday morning.
The committee was to discuss integration for the third session of
Maoist former fighters in Nepal Army.
The meeting was postponed following deep internal differences in the uPN Maoist party heading the government, the radio report said.

STUDENTS PLAN FURTHER PROTESTS AGAINST BHATTARAI GOVT.
Kathmandu, 18 March: Youth and student organizations affiliated
with parties and professional organizations are planning further anti-government protests for a Rs.20 million unprecedented government dole
for Shamir Dahal, son of Maoist Chairman Prachanda, and his cronies to scale the 8848meters high Mount Everest, the world’s tallest peak, this spring.
Street protests in front of educational institutions have been announced by groups affiliated with UML and NC.
Effigies of the government were torched in and outside the capital
Saturday.
