PRESIDENT HOLDS COLLECTIVE DISCUSSIONS WITH FOUR PARTY LEADERS
Kathmandu, 17 March: :Ceremonial President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav held
collective discussions Saturday with top leaders and the Big Three and Deputy
Prime Minister and Home Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachechar representing Madesh
leaders.
Gachedhar is chairman of MJFL.
Maoist Chairman, NC President Sushil Koirala and UML Chairman a Jhalanath Khanal represented the bid in talks centered around the current deadlock.
President Yadav asked leaders if a constitution will be promulgated within the
28 May deadline.
Prachanda said the consultations ruled out any possibility of presidential rule.
The president asked leaders to expedite the delayed peace and constitution
drafting processes

He held delayed consultations with the small parties, including his proposal for integration of former Maoists in the Nepal Army opposed by opposition parties

TOP LAWYARS CONTINUE DISCUSSIONS
Kathmandu, 17 March: The National Conference of the Legal Practitioners has continued discussion on the judiciary in the new constitution, bar-bench relations and rights and duties of the legal practitioners, RSS reports.
General Secretary of Nepal Bar Association Bijay Prasad Mishra said the conference would exert pressure on political parties positively to conclude the peace process and remaining works of constitution writing on time.
The 12th national conference being attended by some 4,000 legal practitioners from across the country began on Friday.
