PROTESTS CONTINUE AT BIR HOSPITAL DEMANDING RESIGNATION

Kathmandu, 21 March: Staff at Bir Hospital, the country’s oldest, continued their
protests for the second consecutive day Wednesday demanding official action against State Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav who alleged misbehaved at the premises during a drunken stupor.
Staff staged a sit-in and worked with black bands around their arms.
Eighteen hospital unions are submitting a memorandum later Wednesday to
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai demanding the minster’s resignation.

HUSBAND,WIFE KILLED IN TAPLEJUNG FIRE
Kathmandu, 21 March: Dhana Bhakta and wife Buddhi Maya
Died when a fire engulfed their two-storied home at Dokhu-2 in Taplejung Tuesday.
Three other houses in the neighbourhood were destroyed by the fire that started
from a nearby forest.
Thirty five houses were gutted by fire at Dainiya-2 in Morang Tuesday.
This is the season for storm and fire.
