TIBETANS ARRESTED IN FRONT OF CHINESE EMBASSY HEAVILY GUARDED BY NEPAL POLICE IN RIOT GEAR

TIBETANS ARRESTED

Kathmandu, 4 March: Unspecified numbers of Tibetans were arrested in front of the Chinese embassy and its old complex in Naxal Wednesday a policeman on duty said at at.430 in the evening in Naxal.
Police were deployed in front of the complexes expecting protests by Tibetan
exiles protesting .their homeland’s seizure by China
China is sensitive to activities of the Nepal-based exiles demanding a crackdown on the community estimated at more than 30,000.

GOVT.SUMMONED BY SUPREME COURT THURSDAY
WITH DETAILS OF AMNESTY ORDER

Kathmandu, 4 March: A single bench of the supreme court Tuesday asked government to appear at the apex court Thursday with details of a decision to amnesty 367
persons charged in courts for criminal activities, including Maoist Chairman
Prachanda and Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai who is also a top Maoist leader.
The government decision this on this month has drawn flak at home and abroad.
Advocate Madhav Basnet filed a writ at the supreme court Sunday calling intervention to overturn the decision.

JUSTICE PERM SHARMA SUPERANNUATED

Kathmandu, 14 March: Supreme court justice Prem Sharma was superannuated Tuesday after 65 years of age.
He worked 38 years in the judicial service.
