Kathmandu, 1 April: The two-day CPN-ML politburo meeting on Sunday concluded that the statement by the United Madhesi Democratic Front (UDMF) leaders to threaten to disintegrate the country if 'one madhesh one pradhesh' was not granted was condemnable, RSS reports.
The politburo has also demanded that the sitting ministers making such anti-national statements be expelled from the government.
The meeting chaired by General Secretary CP Mainali also decided that the division of the State into federal provinces should be done through a referendum.

PARLIAMENT SUB-COMMITTEE DEMANDS ACTION AGAINST SOCIAL MALPRACTICVES IN SAPTARI
Kathmandu, 1 April: The sub-committee constituted under the Legislature-Parliament's committee on women, children and social welfare has called for an
investigation into the Saptari incident and taking action against the culprits, RSS reports.
The sub-committee was constituted to carry out study on caste discrimination, the problem of untouchability and ways of resolving the problems related to this social malpractice.
The incident relates to the alleged killing of one Shiva Shankar Das of Pangsera-5, Saptari district. It is alleged that the 21-year-old Das was fatally beaten and then forced to drink poison by the relatives of a girl from the Chaudhary community on the charge of having a love affair with her.
Shiva Shankar’s family members have alleged that the culprits are on the run and the police refused to register their complaint.
A meeting of the sub-committee today held under the chairmanship of sub-committee convenor Binod Pahadi demanded carrying out an impartial investigation into the incident and bringing the culprits to book.
It also called for providing compensation to the victim's family. The incident took place on January 30.
The sub-committee has invited the Inspector General of Police to its meeting tomorrow to acquire information about the incident. It also decided to carry out on-site monitoring in connection with the incident.
