FAMILY OF MURDERED JOURNALIST TO GET ONE MILLION RUPEES RELIEF

Kathmandu, 5 April: Cabinet Thursday announced a one million rupee
relief to the family of journalist Yadav Paudel who was brutally murdered
apparently by a group in Birtamodh, Jhapa, Tuesday.
Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun said after the meet a committee will probe themurder without saying who will head the team.
The government will direct an investigation the murder, he said.

Journalists with Avenues Television, for whom Paudel reported,
Thursday submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and Home Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar demanding action against the killer
Journalists presented pens to the government chief and the home minister to remind them of their obligation to protest those who wield the pen.
Press council condemned the murder.
Demonstrations were held Thursdayin Birtamodh where Paudel murdered.
