JOURNALIST TEAM BEGINS PROBE INTO MURDER OF YADAV PAUDEL

Kathmandu, 5 April: A seven-member journalist team headed by Shiba Gaule launched an investigation into the murder of journalist Yadav Paudel in Birthamodh, Jhapa, Wednesday
The team began work by meeting representatives of society in the eastern district,
Sixteen persons have been arrested for investigation
Paudel could have been murdered for investigative reporting on red light areas in the town, one report said.
He is survived by a mother, wife and nine-year-old daughter.
Two police teams are also probing the murder

SINGHA DURBAR GETS A CLEAN-UP

Kathmandu, 5 April: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai Thursday launched a cleaning campaign of Singha Durbar complex housing the central secretariat.
The effort was part of campaign to clean-up the capital by the Kathmandu Municipal Corporation.

INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR ALSO KICKS OFF

Kathmandu, 5 April: A five-day Nepal International Trade Fair 2012
sponsored by FNCCI also kicks off at Bhrikuti Mandap Thursday.
Products from home and abroad will be on display at 350 stalls.
China has 30 stalls, India six, Bangladesh seven, Pakistan seven and
Bhutan two in the exhibition.
“We are trying to transform this fair into a forum for those who want to invest in sectors ranging from agriculture to hydroelectricity,” said FNCCI Vice-
chairman Bhaskar Raj Ranjitkar.

CAPITAL RECORDS 0.22MM RAIN OVERNIGHT

Kathmandu, 5 April: Altogether 0.22mm rainfall was recorded overnight
in the capital.
Minimum temperature Thursday morning was 12 degrees Celsius and mercury in expected to rise 28 degrees Celsius in the afternoon Thursday.
It was ‘darkness at noon’ Tuesday when hiil and storm was recorded.
Residents said the phenomenon was unprecedented.
