FNJ SAYS ATTACKERS OF SLAIN JOURNALIST NOT YET ARRESTED
Kathmandu, 16 April: Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), has showed concern over delayed investigation and apprehension of the attackers on journalist, Subhas Saha, reporter with Radio Nepal and the Rajdhani daily from Bara district.

Journalist Saha injured in a brutal attack in the evening of April 13 received nine stitches to his head.

In spite of the passage of three days following the attack, none has been apprehended, the FNJ said, urging the government to arrest the attackers soon and provide security to journalists.

Kathmandu, 16 April: Visiting ex-General of Indian Army, Dr Ashok Mehta, has said that now it was the turn of the Nepali Congress to lead the national consensus government, RSS reports.

Speaking at a programme organised by Reporters' Club Nepal here on Monday, Dr Mehta stressed that the Congress should get an opportunity to lead the government since the UCPN-Maoist and the CPN-UML have already got such opportunity twice after the Constituent Assembly elections.

The latest progress on the Nepal's peace process was really praiseworthy, he said adding the issues relating to form of governance and demarcating of provinces should be finalised as per the parties' wishes.

He suggested the parties to keep economic balance, sustainability, nation's interests and nationality in top priority while forming the provinces.

"The people-elected political leaders in Nepal are themselves able to determine the fate of the nation and India would never interfere ", he claimed.

Responding to a query of journalists on the occasion, the Indian Army former high-ranking officer stressed that the issues of Hinduism and constitutional monarchy should be dealt separately, urging not to dream about the restoration of monarchy in the country.
