MADESH FRONT URGES BIG 3 TO CONCENTRATE ON
CONSTITUTION DRAFTING
Kathmandu, 13 Aprril: The United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF), an alliance of the Madhes-centric parties, has urged the three major parties to focus on the constitution drafting process, RSS reports.
A meeting of the Front on Friday has urged the big parties to now concentrate on drafting the new constitution with the peace process now near to a conclusion.
Matters relating to the enforcement of the four-point agreement reached between the UCPN-Maoist and the UDMF during the formation of the incumbent government were also discussed at the meeting, said Sadbhawana Party Co-chairman Laxman Lal Karna after the meeting.
Stressing on unity and cooperation among all the political parties to conclude the constitution-making process, the meeting urged the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML, the parties in the opposition, to help ensure federalism along with ethnic- identity and viability in the new democratic constitution.
At the meeting, Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Democratic Chairman and Deputy Prime Minister Bijay Kumar Gachhadar shared his views on the peace and constitution, talking about the Front's role on the agenda of national interest.
All members of the Front were present at the meeting that took place at Singha Durbar, it is learnt
