PEACE PROCESS HAS TAKEN NEW TURN SAYS UMP CHIEF
Kathmandu, 11 April : CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal has stated on Wednesday that peace process has taken a new turn following the Tuesday’s four-point deal, RSS reports.
Talking to the leaders of political parties, member of the civil society and women's rights activists in Rukum over the phone as a part of his campaign to collect suggestions on peace and constitution writing process, he said the way has been paved for constitution writing process after the former Maoist combatants, cantonments and weapons have been brought under the Nepal Army (NA).
Former Prime Minister Khanal expressed his confidence the political parties would soon forge consensus on the technical issues regarding the army integration process.
He said the new constitution would address the problems of all the people and urged all to be confident that the social discrimination prevailing in the Nepali society would come to an end with the promulgation of the new constitution.
Khanal also expressed his commitment to issue the constitution as per the aspirations of Nepali people rather than any external forces.
Leaders of the political parties and the civil society and the women representatives who spoke to the UML chairman Khanal over the telephone suggested the leaders to issue the new constitution in the stipulated time.
They also suggested adopting the federal model and the form of governance that is suitable in Nepal's context.

BELGIAN WOMAN ARRESTED AT TAI BEFORE BOARDING FLIGHT WITH 60 GRAM HASH
Kathmandu, 11 April A Belgian woman was arrested Tuesday at TAI
with 60 gram hashish before boarding a SpiceJet Air flight for New Delhi.
The tourist has been identified as Vanderbekeml Dominigue, 54.
