BIG THREE MADESHBADI TALKS ON FEDERAL STRUCTURE INCONCLUSIVE UPDATE Kathmandu, 11 May: Big Three and Madeshbadi talks on a federal structure were i inconclusive Friday with discussions centered around carving out 11 provinces. The talks followed separate and inconclusive Maoist talks with opposition NC and UML parties earlier in the afternoon. The ruling and opposition parties meet Saturday to continue stalled talks on a federal structure. Chairman Prachanda Friday briefed standing committee members on talks with other parties on a federal structure. Nnnn JHAPA STORM DAMAGE SLIENCES FM BROADCASTS Kathmandu, 11 May: Radio broadcast has been shut down after storm and lightning caused damage to two FMs run in Jhapa district, RSS reports from Kakadvitta. The broadcast was closed after electrical appliances were damaged in the lightning Thursday morning at Nagarik FM in Bhadrapur. Damaged equipments were two mixer machines, one transformer, two computers, one printer, one television and three telephone sets. According to FM News Editor Gopal Giri, damage amounted to Rs. 800,000. Nnnn ROAD ACCIDENT KILLS ONE IN TANAHU Kathmandu, 11 May: A person died and three others were injured in a road accident at Bhanu VDC in Tanahu district on Thursday night, RSS reports from Tanahu. The deceased has been identified as Dam Bahadur Gurung, 44, of Bhanu VDC-1. The accident took place at Bhanu VDC-5 when a car (Ga 1 Cha 3783) heading towards Bhanu VDC from Dumre of Tanahu district met with an accident due to over speed. According to the Area Police Office, Bhanu, Gurung died on the way to Damauli Hospital for treatment. Padam Gurung, 41, and Ritu Gurung, 20, of Bhanu VDC-1 and car owner Om Kumar Shrestha of Bandipur VDC-4 were injured in the accident. Injured Padam and Ritu are undergoing treatment at Sewa Kendra, Pokhara and Shrestha in Chitwan, said police. nnnn
