GOVT., FAR-WEST PROTESTOR TALKS SATURDAY Kathmandu, 11 May: Talks between government and negotiators of the far-Wet demanding Greater Far-West region is being conducted in the capital Saturday. A 22-member talks team from the far-West arrived in the capital Friday to negotiate with a three-member government ministerial team headed by Deputy Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Shitaula. Nnnn REMARKABLE INCREASE IN FOREST FIRES IN DANG Kathmandu, 11 May: In an increase of forest fires in Dang this year, altogether 26,800 hectares of forest cover was lost in the far-West district this year, forest officials said Friday. There were 83 fire incidents this year compared to 26 last year. The fires were ignited mainly by irresponsible users. nnnn
