FIRST ROUND TALKS INCONCLUSIVE UPDATE Kathmandu, 21 May: The first rounds of talks between ministerial team of government and NIFIN was inconclusive Monday afternoon. Teams are expected to meet again following an afternoon break. NEFIN Chairman Raj Kumar Lekhi said his negotiating team will demand medical expenses for injured during the strike and release of arrested during the bandh. nnnn NEPALGUNJ TO GET MODERN SWIMMING POOL Kathmandu, 21 May: Construction work of a modern swimming pool at Nepalgunj Stadium area has been expedited, RSS reports from Nepalgunj. The government has for the time being provided Rs. 10 million for the construction of a 50-meter long and 15 meter wide swimming pool of international standard. According to Chairman of the Regional Sports Development Committee, Akal Bahadur Bam, the total cost of the swimming pool is expected to be Rs. 100 million. It is said that the swimming pool would come into operation for nine months in a year in the context of Nepalgunj, which usually has excessively hot weather. A total of eight people could swim at a time in the swimming pool. It is believed that national level swimming competition could be organised and it will help produce swimming players after the construction of the swimming pool. nnnn
