NEWAR COMMUNITY RALLY Kathmandu, 22 May: People of Newar Community of Kathmandu and Lalitpur districts staged demonstrations in various parts of the Kathmandu Valley, demanding single identity-based federal state, RSS reports. The participants of rally also demanded for declaring Kathmandu and its surrounding as Newa: Autonomous State. The rally was started from Mangal Bazaar of Patan and went through Harihar Bhawan, Kupandole, Tripureshwor, Teku and finally concluded after reaching Kalimati, Ramkaji Maharjan, a Maoist leader said. Newar organisations associated to various political parties participated in the rally organised by the Newa Autonomous Manka Khala. Meanwhile, a goodwill rally was also organised in Imadole of Lalitpur to maintain ethnic harmony as the bandh enforcers and the locals clashed on Monday. nnnn
