PARLIAMENT SESSION RUNS SMOOTHLY
Kathmandu, 18 May: At a meting that was delayed by more than three hours until Friday evening, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai asked lawmakers not to obstruct parliament session.
The meeting went on smoothly following assurances of the
government to MJFN Chairman Upendra Yadan and Sharat Singh Bhandarion of MJFL a proposal of the Big Three for11 provinces was ‘preliminary’ and a final decision would be made by parliament.
Bhattarai asked lawmakers not to obstruct the constitution promulgation process as well.
Lawmakers from Madesh affiliated to a Broad Madesh front of Yadav
obstructed the parliament session on the first day Thursday.

FURTHER DETAILS OF JANAKPUR BOMBING
Kathmandu, 18 May: The name of the mastermind of bombing at Ramananda Chok of Janakpur, Santosh Chaudhary (Mukesh Chaudhary) has been made
Public, RSS reports from Janakpur.
At a press meet organized by the Central Research Bureau of the police, Bureau Chief Upendra Kant Aryal said the fact was proved on the basis of adequate evidence.
He said information has been received that Chaudhary is in India. He said the government will be requested to bring those involved including Chaudhary to book and initiative will be made for seeking cooperation from INTERPOL and through diplomatic channels.
From investigation, it has been revealed that Chaudhary has undertaken the crime to make him known as a worker of the Terai Students Liberation Front formed six months ago.
It has been proved that the bomb was planted at Ramananda Chok by Jaya Prakash Chaudhary (Shivam Sharma), 21 of Bishahariya VDC-8 of Saptari district as directed by Mukesh, he said.
They had used high explosive detonator with remote control mechanism in metal pipe in the incident, it is learnt. Five people were killed and 32 injured in the explosion.

GOVT., MUSLIM MEET
Kathmandu, 18 May: A meeting between the government and the National Muslims Struggle Alliance on Friday has been put off until 8:00 am tomorrow [Saturday], RSS reports.
The Alliance presented a charter of demands before the meeting took place at the Peace Ministry in Singha Durbar.
The meeting was postponed at the call of the government side, it is learnt
Talking to media persons after the meeting, government talks team coordinator and Deputy Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula said though the government was positive towards the demands of the Muslims' Alliance, there were still some constitutional and legal difficulties to address them.
The meeting had decided to hold next round of consultation after carrying out further groundwork, he added.
The charter of 10-point demands put forth by the alliance of 30 organisations representing the Muslims has sought guarantee of 'distinct identity' of the community in the new constitution, formation of the Constitutional Muslims Commission and restructuring of the state along with Muslims' identity, among others.
