PL SINGH SPILLS BEANS ON PRASAD’S PRESENCE AT MEET IN PARTIES IN BALUWATAR Kathmandu, 7 May: The current debate or silence revolves round the presence of Indian Ambassador Jayant Prasad in a meeting at the Prime Minister’s official residence, P.L. Bu t the way our leaders are reacting as told tome are the most cowardice to say the least. One UML leader told me that it was gross interference, and that should not be tolerated, At least four senior and important Congress leaders have said this is unbearable and they advised me :I must speak out”. I will speak when I have to. Did Prasad tress pass the high boundary walls of the Prime Minister’s official residence in the night…. The newspaper in a news report Monday under headline UML NOT TO JOIN THE GOVT. WROTE: Khanal (UML chairman) ,under pressure from the CC also declared that India’s ‘meddling’ in Nepal affairs, and ‘undesirable activities’ of the embassy here were of ‘grave concern.’ “We should also be introspective, and encourage a situation where outside meddling is invited.’ Khanal added, He however, requested the movers of a ‘written resolution’ that’ should a clear-cut debate and a resolution on the ‘visible Indian activities’ that amounted to India’s interference in Nepal’s internal affairs . “Knowingly or unknowingly, we are moving towards Indian design,” a resolution that was withdrawn at the request of Chairman Khanal said. About 25 members raised the issue during the CC meeting including Yogesh Bhattarai, Rajhuji Pant and Ghanashyam Bhusal. nnnn
