22 PARTIES ALONG WITH NC, UML FIR TO GO AHEAD WITH ANTI-GOVT. PROTESTS Kathmandu, 4 June: Twenty-two political parties out of the government, including the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML, have decided to protest vigorously against the government, reasoning it dissolved the Constituent Assembly unconstitutionally and declared fresh elections to the CA, RSS reports. A meeting of the 22 parties held at NC headquarters on Monday concluded that it was national duty for them to stand firm against government's move of holding elections for the protection of peace, democracy and progression. The dissolution of the CA was because of the conspiracy of the Maoists, they said, accusing the Maoists of attempting to impose authoritarianism by capturing the state authority. Through the meeting, the parties called on all professionals, intellects, peasants, women, indigenous nationalities, Madhesi, Dalits, youths, students, industrialists and traders of all classes and communities to participate in the June 8 joint mass protest gathering for federal democratic republic, social harmony, progression and peace. The meeting decided to effectively mobilize all the sister wings of the parties associated with the national democratic campaign so to make the protest assembly scheduled for June 8 successful, said NC General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula after the meeting. Besides, the meeting decided to hold a meeting of the protest assembly organizing committee Tuesday morning so as to make preparations for the publicity programmes. Similarly, a meeting of senior leaders of 22 parties is scheduled to be held at the UML headquarters Balkhu in the afternoon, he added. Representatives of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, the CPN ( ML), the Chure Bhawar Rastriya Ekata Party, Nepal Pariwar Dal, Nepal Sadbhawana ( Anandadevi), Samajbadi Party, CPN ML ( Janasamajbadi), Sanghiya Loktantrik Tharuhat, Nawa Nepal, Nepal Loktantraik Samajbadi and former CA member Sadrul Miya Hak were among those present at the meeting. Likewise, representatives of the Janamorcha Nepal, Rastriya Janabadi Morcha Nepal, CPN Unified ( Marxist), Samyukta Janamorcha Nepal, CPN Unified Revolutionary, Nepal Sukumbasi Party Loktantrik, Janata Dal United, Chure Bhawar Rastriya Ekata Party , Nepal Samjbadi Parishad, the Nepal Rastriya Bikas Party and Nepal Janata Dal also attended the meeting. Nnnn REPRESENTATIVES TO APPEAR ON BEHALF OF PM, KRISHNA PRASAH SITAULA IN CONTEMPT OF COURT CASE kathmandu, 4 June: The Supreme Court on Monday allowed Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai and then Deputy Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula to have their representatives to appear in the court regarding the case of the contempt of court filed in the SC, RSS reports. A case of the contempt of court was filed in the SC against them, reasoning that 13th constitution amendment bill was presented in the Legislature Parliament. A division bench of Justices duo Tahir Ali Ansari and Tarka Raj Bhatt gave the order to this regard. Earlier, on 24 May, a single bench of Justice Kalyan Shrestha had issued an order in the name of Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai and DPM Sitaula to present themselves before the court within seven days for hearing over their attempt to extend the Constituent Assembly term. Following the order, they furnished their replies in writing by appearing before the court on May 31. The writ petition on contempt of court was filed by advocate Kamal Prasad Itani. nnnn ________________________________________ SHARAT SINGH BHANDARI SEEKS COURT INTERVENTION AGAINST PARTY BOSS CACHSHHADAR Kathmandu, 4 June: Senior leader of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Loktantrik), Sharat Singh Bhandari on Monday filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court, demanding stay order against party Chairman Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar's plot to expel him from general member of the party till the disputes in the party were settled, RSS reports.. According to leader Bhandari, party Chairman Gachchhadar sought written clarification illegally by publishing a notice in the newspaper on June 1 instead of solving disputes internally. Also, the Chairman was plotting to expel him from the general member of the party, he added in the writ petition. The writ has made defendants to party Chairman Gachchhadar, the party itself and the central discipline committee of the party. nnnn DENGUE SURFACES IN CHITWAN WIIH ONSET ON SUMMER Kathmandu, 4 June: Dengue fever, which is communicated from mosquito bite, has been detected on two patients in Chitwan district, RSS reports from Chitwan. One dengue patient was found at Bharatpur Hospital and another at Chitwan Medical College. The dengue patient found at Bharatpur Hospital is undergoing treatment, said senior doctor Bijay Paudel. Dr. Arun Sedhain said the dengue patient was found at the Chitwan Medical College on the third week of April. He said the patient is under the care of the Hospital. It is said that number of patients suffering from fever is increasing at the Chitwan Hospital with sudden rise of temperature and mosquito bites. nnnn THREE CHARGED FOR MONEY LAUNDERING RELEAED ON BAIL Kathmandu, 4 June: A division bench of a special court Monday released Mukesh Kumar Sharma, Umesh Kumar Sharma and Aditya Kumar Sharma - on bail as charged by CIAA for money laundering on bail Mondau. Mukesh Kumar Sharma, Umesh Kumar Sharma and Aditya Kumar Sharma were released on bail of Rs 2,500,000, Rs 400,000 and Rs 780,000 respectively. nnnn
