CA ELECTION WAS LAST OPTION Kathmandu, 6 June: Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum (Democratic), Bijay Kumar Gachchadar claimed that currently there was no constitutional alternative to holding fresh elections of the Constituent Assembly (CA), RSS reports. Speaking at a press conference organized at the MJF-D party office, Sanepa, he reiterated the need to go for CA elections by forming the national consensus government under the leadership of incumbent Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai. Deputy Prime Minister Gachchhadar claimed the announcement of CA election for November 22 was the move to prevent the nation from sliding into constitutional vacuum at the eleventh hour, arguing the political parties having conviction in democratic system should not fear to go for people's mandate. Gachchhadar, who is also the chairperson of the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) – one of the major political forces in the recently dissolved CA – admitted that the Front also held responsibility for the dissolution of the CA while asserting the UDMF had restrained flexibility till the last moment for promulgating new constitution. He said the UDMF had played intermediary role to convince the Unified CPN (Maoist) and the Nepali Congress to adopt mixed system with regard to the forms of governance, however the Front could not agree upon the proposal to carve out 11 provinces without name and identity. nnnn ELECTION ANNOUNCED UNDER FOREIGN INFLUENCES Kathmandu, 6 June: Secretary of the UCPN-Maoist, CP Gajurel, has accused Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai of dissolving Constituent Assembly under the pressure of foreign forces, RSS reports. At an interaction organized by the Raphat Media Club here on Wednesday, Secretary Gajurel said the election to the CA was impossible. He demanded the resignation of the Prime Minister, stressing that the government was acting in an irresponsible way. Moreover, leader Gajurel said the reinstatement of the CA was a chimera. He accused party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal of splitting party. On the occasion, Nepali Congress leader Man Mohan Bhattarai said the CA could not be reinstated in the way the Maoist Chairman has claimed. Leader Bhattarai also ruled out the possibility CA election on May 22. Nnnn GOLD PRICE HITS RS. 56,900 PER TOLA Kathmandu, 6 June:: Gold was traded Wednesday for 56,900 per tola  a rise of Rs 300 per tola.  The precious metal was traded for Rs 56,800 per tola Sunday. The price increased in the local bullion market following a rise in theinternational market.  Nnnn
