CPN MAOIST FIRST CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEET BEGINS Kathmandu, 25 June: The first central committee(CC) meeting of the CPN Maoist will meet again Tuesday after briefly assembling meeting Monday at its party office which has been opened in Kupandole, Lalitpur. The committee discussed recommendations of the politburo to appoint office bearers of the new party. The politburo recommended appointment of CP Gajurel vice chairman, Netra Bikram Chand and Dev Gurung as party secretaries and Pampha Bhusal as spokesperson. The TU is appointing a replacement by 4 July. nnnn AUTHORITIES SEAL A PLANT MANUFACTURING TOMATO SAUCE IN TEKU Kathmandu, 25 June: A government inspection team Monday sealed a factory manufacturing bottled tomatoes under unhygienic condition in Teku. The industry was also marketing vinegar and soya sauce. Television footage showed the hygienic conditions under which the products were being manufactured. Nnnn SC SUMMONS PARTIES TO DISCUSS BUDGET Kathmandu, 25 June:The Supreme Court (SC) has called both ruling parties and oppositions on July 1 to discuss whether or not to issue an interim order regarding the budget that the government was likely to bring without political consensus, RSS reports. A single bench of Justice Sushila Karki issued an order to this end on Monday after hearing by legal practitioners over the writ filed by advocate Rajesh Silwal demanding the interim order to prevent the government from brining budget without forging consensus. Advocate Silwal had filed the writ making Prime Minister and Office of the Prime Minister, and Finance Ministry defendants. The writ had also demanded to issue the interim order not to bring the budget until the writ was finalized stating that the article 43 of the Interim Constitution has a provision to run the government based on political consensus and the article 88 has a provision of passing the ordinance through the people-elected body. nnnn
