Kathmandu, 13 June; Opposition NC has opposed an ‘extortion drive’ by Maoist drive to collect money from industries and traders to manage former Maoist fighters.
“NC strongly denounces the Maoists for carrying out extortions
and demanding employment and shares in industries based n Hetauda Industrial
Estate and other areas of Makwanpur,” the opposition party said.
Outgoing US Ambassador Scott H. DeLisi also raised the issue with

Maoists combatants who were discharged from camps after
disqualification by UN’s political arm UNMIN, are compensation
equivalent to fighter who retirted voluntarily—Rs. 500,000 to
Rs.800,000.

from camps.
