TWO GENERALS PROMOTED
Kathmandu, 28 June: The meeting of the Council of Ministers this evening decided to promote a major general and two brigadier generals of Nepal Army and install them in the posts, RSS reports.
The meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar on Thursday evening promoted and installed brigadier general Nirendra Prasad Aryal to the post of major general while colonels Ram Krishna Adhikari and Himalaya Bikram Khatri to the post of brigadier generals.
The meeting also approved the resignation of colonel Umesh Kumar Bhattarai.
Talking to media persons following the meeting, Minister for Information and Communications Raj Kishor Yadav said the Cabinet meeting decided to promote three brigadier generals and three lieutenant colonels and transfer 10 colonels.
Similarly, the meeting decided to accept the grants of Rs17.1 million and additional grants of Rs 320 million provided by the Asian Development Banks to set up service centers for women and children and implement the school sector reform project respectively.Minister Yadav further said the meeting approved the framework agreement on grant assistance between Nepal and Korean Republic.

BUDGET ALLOCATION FOR AGRICULTRE DISCUSSED
Kathmandu, 28 June: : A discussion was held at the office of the Prime Minister on Thursday about the problems in the agriculture sector and necessary
budget and grants, RSS reports..
The Office of the Prime Minister said the discussion was attended by the secretaries at the ministries of finance, agriculture and cooperatives, and energy and the department chiefs.
Secretary at the Agriculture Ministry, Nathu Prasad Chaudhari said the discussion focused how youths could be attracted towards agriculture and increasing grants in the chemical fertilizer.
The discussion also concentrated on how the supply of chemical fertilizers could be regularized and made smooth.
The Prime Minister has been saying in the public programmes that sizable grants would be provided to buy chemical fertilizer.
Nepal consumes 300,000 metric tons of chemical fertilizers every year.
Officiating Director at the Agriculture Materials Company, Sashi Raj Tuladhar demanded that the government needs to provide some 7 billion rupees grants to buy fertilizers.
