DON’T TURN POLITICS INTO INDUSTRY ADVISES PRESIDENT Kathmandu, 8 July:: President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has said the politics, at present, was being taken as an industry, RSS reports. Addressing a programme organised to confer the Pushpalal National Award at the Presidential Residence Shital Niwas, on Sunday President Dr Yadav said, "The trend of taking politics as an industry is increased of late though it was thought earlier as a platform to contribute the nation and its people." He blamed that the political parties, especially the major four political parties, were responsible for dissolving the Constituent Assembly without bringing constitution. The government should have become more responsible for the national consensus after the dissolution of the CA but it did not. As a result, the nation was in a condition of political deadlock, said President Dr. Yadav. He drew the attention of the government that nothing could be done without political consensus at a condition budget has been imperative. On the occasion, former prime minister and Chairman of the Pushpalal Memorial Foundation, Madhav Kumar Nepal, said it was essential to put into practice the policy the late Pushpa Lal adopted. Similarly, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Post Bahadur Bogati, said the cooperation and consensus among the parties was the need of hour to institutionalise the achievements of the janaandolan. The Pushpalal National Award was conferred on former parliamentarian Govinda Raj Gyawali in the politics, while on the late Kedarnath Pradhan in history, and Ananda Dev Bhat in literature for this year. The Award carries the purse of Rs 200,000 in politics while Rs 50,000 each in history and literature. nnnn
