KAMAL THAPA CALLS FOR NEW POWER CENTER Kathmandu, 12 July: One day after Kamal Thapa told Kaski party workers Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai must pay for his ‘childish remark’ if anything happened to former King Gyanendra because of security lapse, the RPP-Nepal chairman said a ’new power center’is needed. He said in Pokhara Thursday his party ‘was ready to act as a facilitator’. Thapa demanded Wednesday accounts of expenditure of the last five years culminating in failure to institutionalize the declaration of a republic by drafting a constitution. “We demand detailed account of all taxes in names of peace and constitution and foreign debts incurred,: Thapa said in Kaski.. ‘Ash can’t be turned into firewood,.” Thapa said asking parties and their leaders not to sell dreams. “The prime minister will have to bear responsibility if anything happens to former King Gayendra because of security. “People want the king. “Because leaders and parties plundered the nation, people are seeking a detailed account and seeking redress from the king,.” Thapa added. nnnn DALIT SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES Kathmandu, 12 July: Thirty-two year-ol Dalit Ram Bahadur Nepali died Wednesday of injures he sustained after he was thrashed by higher caste Tharus im Nepalgunj, a published report said. Nepali was battered by three Tharus. Nnnn FOUR MORE CAPITAL ROADS ON DEMOLITION LIST DURING WEEKEND : Kathmandu, 12 July: Four more roads will be bulldozed in the capital during the weekend in the midst leaving behind of slushy roads. Baneshwir-Battishpuli, Teku-Kuleshwor, Golfutar-Budhanilkantha and Tundaldebi-Thirbam roads will be dug for widening. Nnnn
