LALITPUR RESIDENTS CONTONUE PROTESTS TO RE-SETTLE SQUATTERS FROM BAGMATI RIVER Kathmandu, 11 July: Locals of Sundarighat in Lalitpur continued protests Wednesday opposing government efforts to relocate squatters from Bagmati river in Thapathali, to the cultural site in the neighbouring istrict. The government move is not an effort at problem resolution but an attempt to trans locate a problem from one site to another within the Valley. Locals of Sundhrighat have threatened to torch hutments built by government for transferred squatters who have now refused tomove to Lalitpur amidst fears created by threats.
