MORE PARTIES OPPOSE GOVT. PLAN TO HANDOVER TIA TO INDIAN GROUP
Kathmandu, 5 July: The CPN (ML) and CPN (ML-Socialist) have said that their serious attention was drawn to the government preparations to handover the management and upgradation work of the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) to an Indian
Company, RSS reports.
Issuing a press statement, General Secretary of CPN (ML) CP Mainali demanded that the government immediately withdraw the decision as handing over the management and upgradation of the TIA to the foreign company could challenge the country's national security, sovereignty, national integrity and independence.
Similarly, Chairman of CPN (ML-Socialist) Jagat Bahadur Bogati has asked the government not to make any agreement that pose a threat to country's sovereignty and independence.
The party has also drawn attention of the government for easy supply of chemical fertilizer across the country.
